Vertical Assault is a progressive program designed to benefit both beginning and accomplished pole vaulters.Through a pole and run progression, you’ll learn our series of vault drills adopted from the nation’s best coaches, which leads to safe and consistent higher vaulting.

 Coach Mike is a certified USATF coach with over 20 years of experience. Named US High School Coach of the Year, he has worked extensively with some of the nation’s best coaches and athletes including, most recently, several California State Championship qualifiers.

Among his stable of accomplishments are:

  • 14 HS National Champions

  • 4 US Olympic Development Vaulters

  • 2 Former US H.S.Record Holders

  • 18 US H.S All-Americans

  • 25 PA State Champions since 2001

  • 21 NJ State Group Champions since 2001

  • 10 NJ Boys and Girls Meet of Champions winners

  • NCAA D-1 All Americans (2)

  • NCAA D-III National Champions & 2x Record Holder(4)

Vertical Assault Pole Vaulting Club began in 1996, serving the east coast's vaulters across PA, NJ, and NY, and still operating full service facilities on the east coast, serving hundreds of athletes in the tri-state area. Head Coach Mike recently moved to the California bay area, and is leading west-coast operations based in Sunnyvale, CA.
